Charles Hoskinson thinks he can solve Cardano\u2019s spiralling social reputation by muting everyone on X and increasing censorship on Discord.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The problem with the Cardano (ADA) community, he explained<\/a> yesterday, isn\u2019t the 50% decline in ADA year-to-date, its 75% decline over the last year, or its 94% collapse over the last five years.<\/p>\n

Nor is the problem Cardano\u2019s graveyard of failed<\/a> initiatives, ongoing forensics<\/a> into early ADA sales, or the canceled Cardano summit. <\/p>\n

The problem is mean tweets and drama on X.<\/p>\n

Hoskinson posted<\/a> on Thursday that he\u2019s plotting a \u201cgreat migration\u201d of the Cardano community off X and onto a censored, i.e. \u201cwell-moderated,\u201d Discord server.<\/p>\n

In this great new Discord, thanks to moderators\u2019 speech censorship, members will be able to \u201cleave behind the drama, lies, endless rage, and embittered people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Such people aren\u2019t on Discord, presumably, or at least won\u2019t be speaking within Hoskinson\u2019s well-moderated channels.<\/p>\n

Hoskinson spoke with EMURGO chief executive Phillip Pon, appointed<\/a> last year, about building this great server.<\/p>\n

Future Ask Me Anything sessions will pull questions from Hoskinson\u2019s new Discord, but he admitted<\/a> that he\u2019ll keep livestreaming on X<\/strong> because the audience is large and therefore worthwhile for its reach.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cardano\u2019s new \u2018well-moderated\u2019 Discord server<\/h2>\n

Even though most people will remain on X, Hoskinson\u2019s \u201chappy, positive\u201d channels will be the place for \u201creal conversations,\u201d \u2014 provided those conversations comply with his moderators\u2019 discretion.<\/p>\n

In early June, analytics platform TapTools, a fixture of Cardano ecosystem, announced<\/a> it was winding down.<\/p>\n

The 2026 Cardano Summit was scrapped<\/a> after the governance community voted down its treasury funding. Hoskinson himself expects<\/a> more Cardano projects to struggle in the current bear market.<\/p>\n

Protos has documented<\/a> the founder\u2019s combative streak before, including a senior developer resigning after Hoskinson backed an FBI investigation into a stake pool operator and dismissed the fallout as \u201ccomplete bulls*** and ridiculous.\u201d<\/p>\n

Within hours, the bizarre announcement about Hoskinson\u2019s \u201cwell-moderated\u201d Discord server was trending<\/a> on X, the platform he wants everyone to abandon, racking up tens of thousands of views about a man who would prefer to have censorship power over the conversation.<\/p>\n
