Yesterday\u2019s arbitration motion hearing between Justin Sun and World Liberty Financial (WLFI) is being hotly contested by both the Tron billionaire and WLFI\u2019s CEO Zach Witkoff.<\/p>\n

The federal court hearing in California stems from Sun\u2019s April lawsuit<\/a> that accuses WLFI of fraud and breach of contract when it froze his tokens with alleged undisclosed blacklisting powers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sun says hearing was a \u2018significant win\u2019\u00a0<\/h2>\n

Sun claimed<\/a> on X that a judge ruled his case and \u201cindividual claims\u201d would go to court, calling the apparent development a \u201cmajor victory.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said that the judge \u201crejected World Liberty\u2019s argument that all of the company-related claims should be arbitrated, and has ordered the parties to meet and confer about which of those claims should remain in court and which should go to arbitration.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Today, my counsel appeared in California federal court to oppose World Liberty Financial’s @worldlibertyfi<\/a> efforts to force our dispute into secret arbitration proceedings and seal documents from public view.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

We argued forcefully that this case belongs in open court\u2014and the\u2026<\/p>\n

All this, Sun said, was despite WLFI\u2019s efforts to force \u201csecret arbitration proceedings.\u201d<\/p>\n

Witkoff says Sun is lying<\/h2>\n

Hours later, Witkoff said<\/a> WLFI never wanted Sun\u2019s \u201cindividual claims\u201d to go to arbitration and that they wanted them dismissed entirely.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He said that the court is yet to rule on the outcome of these claims, completely contradicting Sun\u2019s description of the hearing, which Witkoff described as \u201criddled with falsehoods.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sun\u2019s X post regarding today\u2019s hearing on World Liberty\u2019s Motion to Compel Arbitration is riddled with falsehoods. The Court did not make any rulings but agreed with World Liberty that many claims brought by Sun\u2019s companies must go to arbitration\u2014and even Sun\u2019s lawyers had to\u2026<\/p>\n

Additionally, Witkoff claims the court sided with WLFI and agreed that many of Sun\u2019s other claims must go to arbitration. He said, \u201cEven Sun\u2019s lawyers had to concede in the courtroom that these claims do not belong in court.\u201d<\/p>\n

Justin Sun is allegedly avoiding other lawsuit proceedings<\/h2>\n

To top it off, Witkoff alleges that Sun is \u201cactively avoiding\u201d legal proceedings regarding the separate lawsuit WLFI filed<\/a> against him in Florida.<\/p>\n

Court documents on the outcome of yesterday\u2019s hearing are yet to be published online. It\u2019s unclear when the parties will meet next to discuss the arbitration motion. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Sun says WLFI can\u2019t afford to lose lawsuit<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Sun also alleged that WLFI likely can\u2019t afford the hundreds of millions of dollars in damages if they lose the lawsuit.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He highlighted that WLFI\u2019s deposit of almost 5 billion WLFI tokens with Dolomite, and legal proceedings regarding Dough Finance litigation, raise doubts about whether WLFI has \u201cenough money to satisfy a judgment, repay their debts, or make investors whole if there is a run on the bank.\u201d<\/p>\n
